“Pinacoteca degli Elefanti”, the app dedicated to the painter Giuseppe Sciuti
Inaugurated on 23rd September 2016, the Permanent Exhibition of paintings by Giuseppe Sciuti, held at the Palazzo degli Elefanti, was the first exhibition in Italy to use the Augmented Reality and Image Recognition technologies integrated in Project ARM platform. Thanks to the partnership between ARM23, the City of Catania and the Sicilian department for archaeological heritage, the application “Pinacoteca degli Elefanti” has been released. It relies on Project ARM’s software and allows the recognition of the artworks and the screening of extra text, audio and video content in augmented reality. The application can be downloaded for free from the app stores throughout the whole duration of the exhibition. For the city of Catania, the app is the first move in keeping up with modernization and adds extra value to the current itineraries and sightseeings available to tourists and visitors.
Arm23 has created the app "Pinacoteca degli Elefanti", which will be released on the Play Store and App Store during the inauguration. Visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to access in a totally free way to the most beautiful rooms of the town hall and to be assisted in the discovery of the precious works by a revolutionary tool, conveniently stored in their smartphones.
